Woolen Skin

Woolen Skin is wet felted and woven. Featured in the annual juried Student Art Show hosted by the university union(2024). Sold.

I began this work by loosely weaving a 40 inch wide plain weave cloth on a floor loom. The warp yarns are entirely wool and the weft yarns are a variety of wool, cotton, and synthetic materials. I felted the weaving onto a wet-felted pelt. Woolen skin is a continuation of my interest in wool fiber as a skin and relationships between human and animal.
